How to Draw Spider-Man — Let’s get started!

Step 1 – Draw Spider-Man’s head.

First, we will draw his head. Draw a circle about three-fourths of the way up the page and slightly to the right.

Step 2 – Draw Spider-Man’s eyes.

Spider-Man is going to be wearing his famous costume, which conceals his identity. In this step, we will draw the eyes of his mask. Draw two slanted semi-circles for the eyes. Check out the photo!

Step 3 – Draw his arms and torso.

Spider-Man will be shown in the middle of the action. His arms and feet will be outstretched, and he will appear to be in mid-air.

Draw his arms extending out just below his head. You don’t need to add the hands yet. Below each arm, draw a line for his torso. His body should be slightly slanted to the right.

Step 4 – Draw his hands.

Spider-Man creates his own web fluid, which he can shoot from his hands to swing through the city. He can also use it to fight against enemies. Let’s add Spider-Man’s hands in this step!

At the end of each arm, draw four fingers and a thumb. The hand on the right side of the page should be in his famous pose—with the index and pinkie extended and the middle two fingers tucked in. Check out the photo.

Step 5 – Outline the rest of his body.

Now, it’s time to add the rest of the body’s outline.

Spider-Man will be mid-jump, showing his athletic talents, amazing agility, and quick reflexes, which he uses to defeat opponents like the Green Goblin and the Doctor Octopus. Draw his legs—you’ll want to refer to the photo for this step. One leg should be bent and the other almost outstretched. Great job!

Step 6 – Add detail to his costume.

Spider-Man’s real name is Peter Parker. He was originally created as a high school student who famously gains superpowers after being bitten by a radioactive spider in science class. His costume allows him to live his other identity, and he designed it himself!

Let’s add detail to his epic costume. Draw lines around his armpits and markings to indicate his shoes.

Step 7 – Add a spider on his chest.

Spider-Man’s costume famously has a spider emblem on the chest.

Let’s add that spider now. Draw a spider, complete with eight legs, on his torso. Fill it in to stand out from the rest of the costume.

Step 8 – Continue adding detail to his costume.

This step will bring the costume to life! Draw lines throughout the whole costume except for the pants and eyes. The lines on the head will converge into a point in the middle between the eyes. The rest of the lines should be straight. Check out the photo.

This is the first step to making the whole costume look like it is covered in spiderwebs!

Step 9 – Complete the costume.

Finally, add the last details to the costume. Connect all the lines from Step 8 with shorter curved lines, completing the spider-web design. This might take a little bit—make sure you add little lines, even on the hands, for the full effect! Awesome job!

Step 10 – Color in Spider-Man!

Last but not least, let’s color in everything! Spider-Man is famously blue and red, but have fun with it. Color in the background, too! Is he swinging through the city? Be creative!
